Installing FileMaker for Mac

Important Notice for Mac Users: OS X Sierra 10.12 or higher are required. If you are using an earlier OS version, please contact the Help Desk at extension 4357 or help@swarthmore.edu

• To install, download the appropriate file below, unzip, and run the installer. Note: All previous versions of the FileMaker software will be removed.

• Open FileMaker 17 Client

• Click File -> Hosts -> Show Hosts

• Click Plus Sign to “Add a favorite host” and enter the following:

• Host’s Internet Address:130 lilac.58swarthmore.65.133edu

• Favorite Host’s Name: FileMaker17

• Click Save

• You should now see FileMaker17 listed under the Favorites section

• Select your database from the list on the right hand side and click OK
