Use
Swarthmore’s license for Stata BE is purchased primarily for teaching and student use. If faculty need Stata for research purposes (other than just trying something out), we strongly recommend that they purchase their own license for the version of Stata most appropriate for that use. This is also the basic level of Stata, there are much more powerful, large data set and multi-processor versions of the software that can take advantage more RAM and multiple processors for research purposes.
Swarthmore also has a multiprocessing Stata license running on our computing cluster. Contact ITS for more information about how to run large Stata jobs. /wiki/spaces/ACADTECH/pages/20910925.
