Installing FileMaker for Windows
- To install, download the appropriate file below, unzip, and run the installer. Note: All previous versions of the FileMaker software will be removed.
Installing FileMaker for Mac
Important Notice for Mac Users: OS X Sierra 10.12 or higher are required. If you are using an earlier OS version, please contact the Help Desk at extension 4357 or help@swarthmore.edu

Windows: FileMaker 17 for Windows 64bit
Windows: FileMaker 17 for Windows 32bit
Mac : FileMaker 17 for Mac
How to connect to a shared server-hosted FileMaker 17 databases
Open FileMaker 17 Client
Click File -> Hosts -> Show Hosts
Click Plus Sign to “Add a favorite host” and enter the following:
Host’s Internet Address: lilac.swarthmore.edu
Favorite Host’s Name: FileMaker17
Click Save
You should now see FileMaker17 listed under the Favorites section
Select your database from the list on the right hand side and click OK
