Gutenberg - the New WordPress Block Editor

WordPress has a new way of editing blog posts using its block editor, known as Gutenberg. The old classic editor was a text editor with formatting buttons very similar to Microsoft Word. The new editor uses a totally different approach, called ‘Blocks’ (hence, the name Block Editor). Blocks are content elements that you add to the edit screen to create content layouts. Each item you add to your post or page is a block. You can add blocks for each paragraph, images, videos, galleries, audio, lists, and more.

WordPress Posts Vs. Pages?

Posts are blog entries listed in reverse chronological order on your website. They are often articles or updates you share to offer up new content to your readers. Posts are always associated with a date, which is included in the URL. Sometimes, posts are confused with pages.

Pages are static and are not affected by date. An About page, a Contact page, and a Home page are great examples of this.

See WordPress' documentation Post vs. Page for an explanation of the differences.
