Vacation Responder and Email Forwarding

Setting up a Vacation Responder

  1. Click on the gear icon in the top-right.

  2. Choose "See all settings".

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the General settings page.

  4. Choose "Vacation responder on".

  5. Now you can set start and end dates, as well as choose a subject and type out your vacation message.

  6. Click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page.

You will have two additional options under the message field to choose from: "Only send a response to people in my Contacts" and "Only send a response to people in". You can check either or both of these as needed. To ensure everyone receives your vacation responder, leave both of these options unchecked.

Setting up Email Forwarding

  1. Click on the gear icon in the top-right.

  2. Choose "See all settings".

  3. Along the top of the Settings window, choose "Forwarding and POP/IMAP".

  4. In the top Forwarding section choose "Forward a copy of incoming mail to".

  5. Enter the email address you wish to forward mail to.

  6. Recommended: Keep the default setting of "keep Mail's copy in the Inbox".

  7. A confirmation email will be sent to the email you wish to forward to. You must accept this confirmation before message forwarding will begin.

You can turn forwarding off by choosing "Disable forwarding" in the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" settings at any time.
