Scanning to email is not possible from this printer because it is off of the College network

Printing from Windows:

  1. Select the Start Menu and type “printers” in the search box.

  2. Choose Printers & scanners.

  3. Select Add a printer or scanner.

  4. Wait for the “The printer that I want isn’t listed” option to appear, then select it.

  1. Select Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname, then select “Next“.

  2. Select “TCP/IP Device” in the Device type list.

  3. Type 192.168.1.250 as the hostname or the IP address of the printer. Select “Next“.

  1. Windows should find the printer if the printer is on and configured correctly. 
    If you are prompted for a driver, select Canon as the manufacturer and Canon Generic Plus PS3 as the driver.

  2. On the Printer Sharing screen, choose “Do not share this printer”.

Printing from MacOS:

  1. Open System Settings, select Printers & Scanners.

  2. Choose Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax add a printer

  3. Click the

  4. In the Address field, type 192.168.1.250

  5. For Protocol, choose HP Jetdirect - Socket

  6. Leave the Queue field blank

  7. Under Name, enter 225 Chester Road

  8. Under Use, select the option for Select Software..., and search for Canon iR-ADV C5840/5850 PS 

  9. Click Add. After you click Add, the Printer list window will reappear with the selected printer added to the list of printers.
