Installation
To install, download the appropriate file below, unzip, and run the installer. Note: All previous versions of the FileMaker software will be removed.
Important Notice for Mac Users
macOS Sierra 10.12 or higher is required. If you are using an earlier OS version, please contact the Help Desk at extension 4357 or help@swarthmore.edu
Download
Windows 64 bit (most users): FileMaker 17 for Windows 64bit
Windows 32 bit: FileMaker 17 for Windows 32bit
Mac: FileMaker 17 for Mac
How to Connect to Shared Server-Hosted FileMaker 17 databases
- Open FileMaker 17 program
- Click File → Hosts → Show Hosts
- Click Plus Sign to “Add a favorite host” and enter the following:
- Host’s Internet Address: lilac.swarthmore.edu
- Favorite Host’s Name: FileMaker17
- Click Save
- You should now see FileMaker17 listed under the Favorites section
- Select your database from the list on the right hand side and click OK
