ITS automatically imports all your courses using information from the Registrar's Office.  When you log into Moodle you will see all the courses available to you.

Course Visibility and Sorting

Instructors: The courses will be sorted first by availability (courses that have been made available to students will show up first followed by courses not available to students), then by semester.   For example, if you are teaching a course in the current semester and it is available to students, it will appear at the top of your course listing.  If you are teaching a course in the current semester and it is not available to students, it will appear after all the courses that are available to students.

Students: You will see all the courses that are available to students in order by semester.  If you don't see a course that you are enrolled in, the instructor has not made it available to students.

Customizing the Moodle home page

You can control the number of courses that show up on the home page as well as their order by logging into Moodle and clicking on the Customize this page button on the top right of the Moodle home page.  In the course overview block, you can select the number of courses to display and use the four-way arrow icons to rearrange the order of classes.

I can't see my course

If your course does not show up in the Moodle home page, it could be because you are not enrolled in the course.  Check in Faculty service (for faculty) or MySwarthmore (for students) to make sure you are enrolled in the course.

If you have customized the course listing to limit the number of courses shown on the front page, it is possible that the course of interest does not appear.  Make sure you have clicked the Customize this page button and switch the "Number of courses to display:" pull down menu to "Always show all" courses and look for your course.

Students: If you are enrolled in the course, but it does not show up in your Moodle home page, most likely your professor has not made the course available to students.  They might not be using Moodle or they may be waiting to make the course available.  You can check with your instructor.
