Some faculty members find it useful to include an RSS feed in their Moodle courses. These can be from Swarthmore hosted sites (ex: WordPress course site), or from other publicly available sources.
  1. Log into the Moodle course.
  2. Turn editing on by clicking the Green button at the top right of the screen.
  3. Scroll to the bottom left corner and find the block labeled Add a Block.
  4. Choose Remote RSS feeds from the dropdown.
  5. The page will reload and there should now be a block in the lower left corner of the course labeled Remote News Feed. Click the gear icon in this block to configure the feed.
  6. From the Configuring a Remote News Feed block settings page scroll to the setting labeled Choose the feeds which you would like to make available in this block. Click the red link labeled Add/edit feeds.
  7. Click the Add a new feed button.
  8. Add the desired location to the Feed URL field.
  9. Set Shared feed to "No".
  10. Click the blue Add a new feed button.
  11. Navigate back to the course.
  12. Find the Remote News Feed block which you had created earlier. Click the gear icon to finalize the configuration.
  13. Configure the block to your liking, selecting the feed you've added in previous steps.
  14. Click the blue Save Changes button.
