Students needing storage for their class video projects should check out a portable hard drive from Media Services. Class instructors should have pre-arranged for such resources with the Media Services Manager (Michael Patterson) before the semester starts.
While possible to store media projects on Google Drive, doing so is not optimal due to the large number of files generated while editing. One cannot edit a media file directly from Google drive - this means that each file would need to be downloaded to a local device before being used in a video edit or animation. Storing media files on Google drive can add hours of work to your media project. However, uploading files to Google Drive as a backup, and using it as a location to store and share your final products, is a great idea!
