Accessing Servers

Included here are the directions to access Swarthmore managed servers.

Windows 10 (college-owned)

1. If using campus wireless or off-campus, connect to VPN
2. Right-click Windows icon in the bottom-left corner
3. Go to Run
4. In the box, type \\<name of server>.swarthmore.edu

Windows10 (personal computer)

1. If using campus wireless or off-campus, connect to VPN
2. Right-click Windows icon in the bottom-left corner
3. Go to Run
4. In the box, type \\<name of server>.swarthmore.edu
5. Log onto server with your Swarthmore credentials
   1. Type your user name as garnet\\<your user name>

Mac computer (college-owned & personal)

1. If using campus wireless or off-campus, connect to VPN
2. Click Finder
3. Click on Go in the top menu bar
4. Click Go to Server in the drop-down list
5. In the Server Address box, type smb://<name of server>.swarthmore.edu
6. Type garnet\\<your user name> and your Swarthmore password when prompted
7. Click connect
