10.1) Access the PhotoShelter Digital Image Library

You do not need to source your own photos. You are welcome to use any photo in Swarthmore’s digital image library. Below are instructions for logging into the College’s PhotoShelter account. If you have any questions about using PhotoShelter, please contact: web-update@swarthmore.edu.

  1. Goto: http://swarthmore.photoshelter.com

  2. Select "Login" in the top menu bar

  3. Select the "College Login" button

  4. Use your Swarthmore network credentials to login

  5. Click "Galleries" in the top menu bar

  6. Select "Invited Galleries" in the left column and then "Swarthmore College"

  7. You now have access to thousands of photos in the Swarthmore College digital image library.

10.2) Request a Photoshoot

If you need new photos for your website, you can request a photoshoot. This service is provided by the Communications Office and is intended for faculty and staff requests only. Requests for photography must be submitted at least one week in advance. Please allow 3-5 working days for digital processing. Please note: not all requests can be granted. Student workers may be assigned to the job depending on the time of the event and availability. In order request a photoshoot, please fill out the Photoshoot Request Form.

10.3) SiteImprove Website Monitoring

The College uses SiteImprove for quality assurance monitoring and reporting on the Swarthmore website. This resource helps identify broken links, grammatical errors, accessibility issues, as well as provide website analytics data.

This service will be made available to Drupal editors starting in Fall 2024. If you are interested in participating in the SiteImprove pilot program, please contact: web-update@swarthmore.edu.

10.4) Request a Website Redesign

Website redesign services are provided by the Communications Office. Our team will work with your department on helping to redesign your website to meet your goals and to more effectively communicate your content. The College’s Editorial Style Guide is helpful a resource for anyone writing content for the website.
