Exporting Your LastPass Library

If you have used the Family account benefit and linked your accounts, unlink your personal account BEFORE exporting passwords from your Swarthmore LastPass account.

Unlink your personal Family account

  1. Login to your Swarthmore LastPass account on a browser (not the browser extension) - lastpass.com/vault/

  2. From the list on the left-hand side, choose “Account Benefits

  3. Under the account linking section, click “Unlink account

  4. You will be prompted for your master password - enter your Swarthmore account master password

  5. You will be asked if you want to unlink your account - click “Yes

Your account should now be successfully unlinked and the folder with your personal passwords will be removed from your vault - this may take a moment or require a refresh.

Note that if you don’t unlink your personal Family account, those passwords will also be migrated into your new Keeper “work” account.

Export your passwords from LastPass as a CSV

These instructions will work for both Swarthmore LastPass accounts and the personal family accounts.

  1. Login to your LastPass on a web browser (not the browser extension) - lastpass.com/vault/

  2. From the link list on the left-hand side of the page, choose “Advanced Options

  3. Choose “Export” - you will get a brief pop-up across the top of the page that will tell you to check your email to finish the export process

  4. You should have an email from LastPass (support@lastpass.com) with the subject “LastPass Security Notification: Verify export

  5. Open the email and click the “Continue export” button. A new tab will appear to let you know it has been successfully verified and you can return to LastPass

  6. Go back to your LastPass account page (LastPass Vault)

  7. Choose “Advanced Options” and “Export” again

  8. A new tab will open and you will be asked to enter your master password - enter it and click “Submit

  9. A new tab will open with a pop-up to allow you to choose the location you want to save your file to. Once you have chosen your location, click “Save

  10. You can now close the tab
