Devices and How They Authenticate

 

Below is a list of the different types of devices that are available for you to use as well as descriptions of each of the ways you can use those devices to authenticate with Duo. For tips on how to register each type of device listed below, visit our page on adding and managing devices in Duo.

We highly suggest you have at least two devices registered with Duo to provide the most flexibility during login and to ensure you will always be able to access your account when needed.

If you receive a DUO notification when you are not actively signing into your Swarthmore account, do NOT accept it. This means that someone else is attempting to sign into your account! DUO will never send you requests without an active sign-in attempt. If this happens, mark the push as "Fraud" to alert ITS staff.
