See what a course looks like to a student

View as a student

A Moodle Teacher can view the course as a Student by clicking on their name at top right of page → Switch role to ... → Student.  To switch back, click Return to my normal role in the same menu.

The same procedure works to switch to other roles such as Teaching Assistant or Grader.

Limitations

The "Switch role to ..." process  does not always provide an exact representation of a student view.  For example, a Teacher doesn't have gradebook entries, and cannot "take a quiz" to test whether it works as expected.  If using a specific Moodle group to control access to resources, it isn't possible to replicate membership in a group.
