Description
A Zoom meeting is a virtual gathering where participants can communicate and collaborate in real-time using video, audio, and chat through Zoom's online platform. It's commonly used for remote work, education, and social gatherings, allowing users to join from any device with an internet connection. Zoom offers features like screen sharing, breakout rooms, and recording, making it a versatile tool for various types of online interactions.
Accounts
All Swarthmore faculty, staff, and students have a Zoom account and can go to swarthmore.zoom.us and sign in with a Swarthmore username and password.
Licensed Accounts
All Swarthmore users (faculty, staff, and students) are eligible for a Licensed account with no meeting time limits and the ability to host up to 300 participants.
By default, Faculty all have Licensed accounts. Students and Staff may request Licensed accounts
If your account is listed as Basic and you need to host a longer or larger meeting, request a Zoom Meeting Host License.
App
Windows, macOS, and Linux
In a browser, log in into your Zoom account swarthmore.zoom.us with your Swarthmore username and password. Once you log in, click on Host a Meeting and the desktop app will auto-download.
Mobile Apps
For iOS, visit the Apple App Store and search "zoom"
For Android, visit Google Play and search "zoom"
Hardware
Classroom and Conferencing Technologies (avbox@swarthmore.edu) has supplemental web cameras, headphones, and microphones for loan.
